11 Plus Tuition for Highsted Grammar School

Highsted Grammar School was established in 1904, originally as Sittingbourne High School for Girls, and became an academy in 2010. It is a selective girls’ grammar school in Sittingbourne, Kent, with a science specialism, educating over 850 girls aged 11 to 18.

Highsted Grammar School has a Published Admission Number of around 150 places for Year 7 each year. The school is usually oversubscribed, making thorough Kent Test or Highsted Test preparation essential.

Highsted Grammar School uses either the Kent Test (PESE), provided by GL Assessment, or its own optional Highsted Test. The Kent Test covers English, Maths and reasoning, while the Highsted Test is a computer-based reasoning and numeracy test plus an English paper. A pass in either test carries equal status for entry.

The Highsted Test is an optional, school-based assessment that runs alongside the Kent Test, giving girls another opportunity to show their suitability for a grammar school place. It comprises a computer-based test of verbal ability, numeracy and non-verbal reasoning, plus an English paper, and a child must also have registered for the Kent Test to take it.

Registration for the 2026 Kent Test opens on Monday 1st June 2026 and closes at midnight on Wednesday 1st July 2026 through the Kent County Council website. The optional Highsted Test is registered for separately through the school’s own application form.
