Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, Alford selects pupils through the Lincolnshire 11+, a two-part multiple-choice test set and marked by GL Assessment and used across the Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools, so a child registers and sits the test once for the consortium schools. Each paper lasts around 50 minutes and includes a short practice section. Scores are age-standardised so younger children are not disadvantaged, and a standardised score of 220 is required to be considered for a place, the same standard used across the Lincolnshire Consortium.
Registration for the Lincolnshire 11+ is completed online through the Lincolnshire County Council website when the child is in Year 5, during the registration window. Parents must also submit the Common Application Form through their local authority, listing Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, Alford among their preferences, by 31st October 2026. Both the test registration and the application must be completed by their deadlines.
