Admissions Number
The Royal Grammar School admits around 182 day boys and up to 10 boarding boys into Year 7 each year, giving a total intake of roughly 192 places, with around 1,370 pupils on roll across the school. The school is regularly oversubscribed, so a qualifying STT score combined with the school's admissions criteria determines who is offered a place. Boarding places have additional requirements, including an interview with the Head of Boarding.
Catchment Area
The Royal Grammar School operates a catchment area covering High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, Stokenchurch and most of Princes Risborough, with two priority areas within it. Entry is based first on a qualifying STT score; where qualifying applicants exceed day places, priority follows looked-after children, free school meals in catchment, siblings, catchment residence, sons of staff, and then straight-line distance from the school. Applicants wishing to be considered under catchment rules must complete the school's Supplementary Information Form (SIF).
