Exam Board & Format
The Folkestone School for Girls offers two routes to selective eligibility. Most girls sit the Kent Test (PESE), provided by GL Assessment and used by most Kent grammar schools, covering English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning in multiple-choice format. Alternatively, girls may sit the Shepway Test, run jointly with The Harvey Grammar School, which is a computerised CEM assessment plus a creative writing task and effectively gives a second opportunity to show selective ability. A child needs to meet the standard in only one of the two tests.
