The Tiffin Girls' School entrance test is a two-stage examination set by the school. Here is everything you need to know about The Tiffin Girls’ School admissions criteria and exam structure.
The Tiffin Girls’ School sets its own two-stage entrance examination, covering English and Maths only, based on Key Stage 2 content up to the end of Year 5. Stage one is a multiple-choice sifting test, with answers recorded on a separate answer sheet that is marked electronically, and it determines only who is invited to stage two.
Stage two is by invitation only, for girls who score highly enough in stage one, and uses written, open-answer English and Maths papers. The combined marks from the two stages are used to rank candidates for places. The school does not conduct interviews, so the outcome depends entirely on exam performance.
Parents register their daughter for the stage one test by completing the school’s online registration form when the window is open, and this is a hard deadline with no late submissions accepted. Parents must also name The Tiffin Girls’ School on their Local Authority’s Common Application Form (CAF).
Parents are notified after stage one whether their daughter is invited to stage two, which takes place in November, and final results follow. Families must submit their secondary school application to the Local Authority by the 31st October deadline. School place offers are confirmed on National Offer Day in early March. Passing both stages does not guarantee a place.
