The Bexley Grammar School entrance test is the Bexley Selection Test, sat in the week commencing Monday, 7th September 2026. Here is everything you need to know about the admissions process and exam structure.
Bexley Grammar School selects pupils through the Bexley Selection Test, the shared 11+ used by all four grammar schools in the London Borough of Bexley, so a child registers and sits the test only once for any of them. Provided by GL Assessment, it consists of two timed, multiple-choice papers taken in a single session, each containing a mix of English comprehension and verbal ability, numerical reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning.
The Bexley Selection Test is sat in the week commencing Monday, 7th September 2026, with test sessions held between Monday, 7th and Thursday, 10th September 2026, either at a child’s own Bexley primary school or at one of the four grammar school test centres. Children take two papers of around one hour each, and the scores are age-standardised so that younger children are not disadvantaged before candidates are ranked.
Registration for the Bexley Selection Test is completed online through the London Borough of Bexley website. For 2027 entry, the registration window opened on 1st March 2026 and closed at midnight on 31st March 2026; late registrations are not accepted under any circumstances. Parents must then name Bexley Grammar School on the Bexley Common Application Form, available from 1st September until 31st October 2026.
The test is sat in the week commencing Monday, 7th September 2026, with results emailed to parents in early October 2026, before the Common Application Form deadline. Meeting the selective standard does not guarantee a place, as the school is heavily oversubscribed and the highest 180 scorers are prioritised. School allocations are confirmed on national offer day, 1st March 2027.
