The Denmark Road High School 11 plus exam is the Gloucestershire Grammar Schools’ Entrance Test, provided by GL Assessment and shared by the county’s grammar schools. It comprises two papers, each around 55 minutes: one covering English and verbal reasoning, and one covering mathematics and non-verbal reasoning, with practice sections included.
For Year 7 entry in September 2027, the Gloucestershire Grammar Schools’ Entrance Test is planned for Saturday 12th September 2026. The registration window for the 2027 intake runs from noon on 18th May 2026 to noon on 26th June 2026, through the grammar schools’ own webpages.
Denmark Road High School is open to girls who will be of Year 7 age for the relevant entry. Pupils must register for and sit the Gloucestershire Grammar Schools’ Entrance Test, and parents must also name the school on the local authority common application form by 31st October 2026.
