Exam Board & Format
Down High School selects pupils through the SEAG (Schools’ Entrance Assessment Group) Entrance Assessment, the single transfer test now used by grammar schools across Northern Ireland, which replaced the former AQE and GL/PPTC tests. A child registers and sits the SEAG assessment once, and the result is accepted by all SEAG member schools. The assessment consists of two papers covering English and Mathematics, with a mixture of multiple-choice and free-response questions answered on separate answer sheets.
