Exam Board & Format
King Edward VI Academy is a bilateral school, so it admits both selective and non-selective pupils. For its grammar stream, children take the Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools (LCGS) 11+ examination, provided by GL Assessment and shared by the consortium’s grammar schools. The 11+ tests reasoning only – a Verbal Reasoning paper and a Non-Verbal & Spatial Reasoning paper, both multiple-choice – with no Maths, English or creative writing. Families seeking a non-selective place do not need a qualifying 11+ score.
