Lancaster Girls' Grammar School has adopted the Future Stories Community Enterprise (FSCE) entrance test as its Year 7 entrance test. The test is designed to assess academic ability in a holistic and inclusive way rather than through rote learning, and covers maths and English. Entry is on the basis of academic ability.
The Lancaster Girls' Grammar School 11 plus exam consists of multiple-choice and short written-response questions in maths and English, assessing skills taught up to the end of Year 5. A child may sit the test only once. Scores are age-standardised, and for September 2027 entry the test takes place on Saturday 26 September 2026.
For Lancaster Girls' Grammar School 11 plus registration, families must register their daughter through the school during the registration window, which for 2027 entry opens in June 2026. Families must also submit their Local Authority Common Application Form (CAF), naming the school, by 31 October.
