Admissions Number
Lancaster Royal Grammar School admits around 150 boys into Year 7 each year, including a number of boarding places, with boarding provision for up to around 180 boys across the school. The school is regularly oversubscribed, so performance in the entrance test combined with the Lancaster Royal Grammar School admissions criteria determines who is offered a place.
Catchment Area
The Lancaster Royal Grammar School catchment area for day places is defined by the boundaries of the City of Lancaster, with priority given to boys living within it who reach the qualifying standard, followed by those in the wider residual catchment area. Boarding places have no catchment requirement. Entry is based first on a qualifying score, with priority for looked-after children, Pupil Premium pupils in catchment, siblings and then proximity.
