The Rugby High School 11 plus exam is the West Midlands Grammar Schools’ Entrance Test, provided by GL Assessment and shared across the 19-school West Midlands partnership. It consists of two papers, each lasting around one hour, with multiple-choice questions assessing English, mathematics, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. Children sit the test once and can apply to any school in the partnership.
For Year 7 entry in September 2027, the West Midlands Grammar Schools’ Entrance Test takes place on Saturday 12th September 2026. Registration runs through the West Midlands Grammar Schools website and closes at 4pm on Friday 26th June 2026, with results issued to parents in mid-October 2026.
