Wallington High School for Girls was established in 1888 and moved to its current site in 1965. It became an academy in 2011 and is part of the Nonsuch and Wallington Education Trust, educating over 1,300 students.

The Wallington High School for Girls entrance test is the Sutton Selective Eligibility Test (SET) plus a joint second-stage test. Here is everything you need to know about the admissions process and exam structure.
Wallington High School for Girls uses the Sutton Selective Eligibility Test (SET), a two-paper multiple-choice test of English and Mathematics shared by the Sutton grammar schools, as the first stage of entry. Girls who pass the SET are invited to sit the Nonsuch and Wallington Second Stage Entrance Examination (NWSSEE), a joint test shared with Nonsuch High School for Girls.
The SET consists of two multiple-choice papers – one English and one Maths – each lasting around 40 to 50 minutes, answered on a separate answer sheet marked electronically. The NWSSEE second stage consists of a standard-format Maths paper and an extended writing task, each around 40 to 50 minutes. All scores are age-standardised so that younger children are not disadvantaged.
Registration for the SET is completed online through the shared Sutton grammar schools portal, accessible from the websites of all participating schools. For 2027 entry, registration opens on 1st May 2026 and closes at midnight on 31st July 2026; no late registrations are accepted. Parents must also name Wallington High School for Girls on the London Borough of Sutton Common Application Form by 31st October 2026.
The SET takes place on Tuesday 15th September 2026, with the joint girls’ second-stage test (NWSSEE) on Saturday 26th September 2026. Results are emailed to parents by the end of October, before the Common Application Form deadline. Meeting the qualifying standard does not guarantee a place, as the school is heavily oversubscribed. School allocations are confirmed on national offer day, 1st March 2027.
