Higher Tier vs. Foundation Tier: What's the Difference?
GCSE Maths Higher tier covers grades 4–9 and includes more advanced content, trigonometry, vectors, higher-level algebra and complex problem-solving, designed for students targeting top grades or planning to study Maths at A-Level. Foundation tier covers grades 1–5 with a narrower syllabus, suited to students who need a more measured pace. Our GCSE maths higher tutors assess each student's current level before recommending the right tier.
